Hey guys! This year I entered the Paizo RPG Superstar 2013. Sadly I did not get past the first round of create a wondrous item. Anyone want to see what my entry was?
Links of Safe Haven
Aura Strong Conjuration; CL 13th
Slot none; Price 45,500 gp; Weight -
Description
When purchased this item is a chain of up to five links. It must be attuned via ritual at a designated haven. The ritual consists of each individual to be attuned grasping a separate link. Once each link is grasped the chain then melts into separate links severing from the chain without breaking. When one of these links is twisted open it seeks its companion links, teleporting all individuals bearing a link (whether they are conscious, unconscious or dead) to the previously determined haven no matter how far away it is. Twisting a link requires a standard action. All other attuned individuals must be within one mile and on the same plane of existence as the individual that that initiated the teleport to be affected. Anything the wielder of the link is carrying or wearing (including gear, animal companions and familiars) is teleported to the haven. Once the chain is reformed the links can never be separated again in any way and the magic is expended.
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, refuge; Cost 22,750 gp
I thought it was a solid item in a category that seems to be a little lacking in the actual system. That category being the "Oh Shit We're All Gunna Die and We Need to GTFO Now" category. Which I'm bummed about because the second round was create an archetype. Wanna see what my entry would have been?
Dual Mystery Oracle (oracle)
A dual mystery oracle is a mystery in itself. No one can quite pinpoint where exactly the first dual mystery oracle appeared but it’s rumored that he was found somewhere in Touvette after being run out of his hometown for claiming to be ‘chosen by the gods.’ Some believe that the gods got tired of the chaos in the River Kingdoms and tried to create unity and purpose using a vessel to spread their plans for the land. It seemed to become evident though that even the gods couldn’t decide what to do with the kingdoms. More and more dual mystery oracles appeared each chosen by more than one god to complete different plans for the area. When it seemed that almost every god was involved in the fight for the land, they threw up their hands and walked away, seeming to abandon the fight for the region. Dual mystery oracles aren’t extremely common but neither are they rare given that gods are constantly changing their focus and wants from one thing to another. Oracles that are agents for more than one god are usually not the most sane people on Golarian and are typically avoided due to this fact.
Mystery At first level a dual-mystery oracle chooses two mysteries, a dominate mystery and a secondary mystery. The dominant mystery will determine the final revelation and which bonus spells he receives along with any additional class skills.
Oracle’s Curse A dual mystery oracle must select two curses at first level, once chosen they cannot be changed. At fifth, tenth and fifteenth level he must choose between the two abilities each curse gives and once chosen it cannot be changed. When using oracle’s burden or oracle’s vessel, he must choose which curse or benefit gets passed onto the target.
Revelations A dual mystery oracle receives revelations as normal plus an additional revelation at 5th and 13th level. The first revelation he selects must be from his dominant mystery and the second from his alternate mystery. Revelation selection must continue this pattern.
Conflicting Interests Since a dual mystery oracle is often chosen as a vessel by multiple deities, he receives a -2 to will saves and concentration checks due to those deities’ constantly conflicting interests. On the other hand it may be that he was only chosen by one deity but given two mysteries that conflict (for instance the healing nature of the life mystery and the destructive nature of the fire mystery) so he is constantly pulled at and distracted by the very nature of both mysteries.
Pretty nifty huh? Just thought I'd put it out there.
